5 Question Friday

I haven't done this for awhile, so I thought I would today...

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver orTLC's What not to Wear?
I guess since we don't own our house, I'll say What Not to Wear.

2. Do you have any tattoos?
NO! And and I never will.

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
Sometimes and I probably will tell them more as they get older.

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?
It depends how far away I am when it turns yellow. When we lived in Sioux City they had long yellow lights, so I would always speed up.

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?
CHOCOLATE! Although, lately I can't seem to stop eating the Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips. I love those things!

3. What's the worst Christmas gift you've ever received?
I would rather not mention it, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings!

4. Christmas song that you love?
Blue Christmas by Elvis, but I love about 99% of Christmas songs. Love this time of year!

5. How many trees do you put up?
One is all I can handle.

Football and board games/card games

Pumpkin.. because I just don't like pecans at all.

Heck NOOOOO!

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?
Maybe the "12 Days of Christmas." It's the first one that pops into my head just because it goes on and on and on....
2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?
Yes and no. With me having to do the side sleeping with the pregnancy I'm always switching in the middle of the night, so sometimes we do and sometimes we don't.
3. Have you ever had surgery?
Just tonsils.
4. When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?
Um...a few days before Christmas or *ahem* Christmas Eve day for any last minute gifts. I'm terrible, I know! I'm hoping with Aaron not coaching basketball this year we'll be able to get things done sooner.
5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?
Entertainment. I would love to be able to go to as many professional and college sporting events as we wanted. Or concerts. Or plays. I sooooo want to go to "Mary Poppins" right now in Des Moines! Yep, I'm kind of a dork like that. :)

Five Question Friday

1. Who is the better cook, you or your spouse?
I would definitely say me. The one exception is burgers. Aaron can throw a bunch of crap in a burger and make it taste amazing.
2. How often do you talk to your mom?
Sadly, not as much as I used to. Probably only once or twice a week now. I just feel busier now than I did a few years ago.
3. Are you adventurous in the kitchen or stick to the recipe?
The first time I make something I stick to the recipe. That way I know how it's really supposed to taste. I'm not really a dare devil, but I will add my own little twists once in a while.
4. Is your second toe longer than your big toe?
Yes! Ew! I hate my feet and feet in general. Enough said.
5. Do you dress up for Halloween? (Bonus question: What will you be this year?)
Nope.

5 Question Friday

1. Did you have a pen pal when you were little (or now)? Where were/are they from?
Nope.
2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be?
Holy cow! I don't know...a graphic designer would be cool, a radio DJ would be fun, a coffee shop owner would be neat to smell the amazing smell of coffee and get to chat with the same people everyday, a stay-at-home mom would be nice so I could kiss on my kiddos anytime I wanted. :)....
3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little?
Not my absolute biggest, but when I was little I was always completely freaked out to sit on the end of the dock on a lake. I always swore I was floating out into the middle and would constantly turn around to make sure I wasn't.
4. What do you think is a waste of time?
Cleaning the house when you have two small children!!
5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet?
I have t-shirts from state basketball and softball from when I was in high school just hanging out, taking up space.

5 Question Friday

1. What is the first nightmare you remember?
Hmmm...I have no idea.
2. Even if you're not a sports fan, what's your favorite sport to play/watch?
My favorite sport to play would have to be (maybe it's because I'm older now) volleyball. I've played in leagues both in Sioux City and in Marshalltown and I LOVED it!
To watch...as a whole I'm a baseball girl. I just love baseball. I know people find it slow and boring, but I don't. When the Twins are on, life is good! Nothing better to do at our house then watch the Twinkies! Hawkeye football is a very close second.
3. If you could pull off one piece of trendy fashion, what would you want it to be (jeggings, hats, thigh high boots, etc.)?
Thigh high boots or skinny jeans would be fun! Unfortunately, I'm just not built for either one, but it would be cool if I could. :)
4. Did you make good grades in school?
Pretty good. I always made the honor roll and all that good stuff.
5. What magazines do you subscribe to?
Everyday with Rachael Ray and technically I don't subscribe to it, my grandma gets it for me for Christmas every year. I love it! The gift that keeps on giving. :)

5 Question Friday

1. What do you do when you have time to yourself?
Well, this rarely happens due to the age of my kids, but I like to read, watch a chick flick or cook.
2. When you look out your kitchen window, what do you see?
My neighbor Jon's house and usually him, sitting outside, smoking and drinking an Old Mil.
3. Who/What would you want to be reincarnated as?
Hmmm...um...let me think on that one.
4. What is your biggest pet peeve about other people's kids?
When they're mean to my kids - pushing them down to get them out of their way, budging in line to get down the slide first and when they don't want my kids to play with them and exclude them on purpose. Ok, I guess I just don't like mean kids!
5. Regular or Diet soda?
When I drink pop I choose regular. If I'm going to drink it I may as well like the way it tastes! However, I've cut down on my pop consumption and upped my water consumption, so I only have maybe one pop a week at the most.

5QF

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it?
I have absolutely no recollection of anything. Maybe my parents could tell me otherwise. :)

2. Do you dream in color?
I think so, but I seldom remember my dreams.

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller?
I think in high school I was 5'10 3/8" or something, so I guess I'll round it up to 5'11". Nope! I like exactly where I am. The only time I falter (slightly) is when I'm shopping for pants! I don't want to be made fun of and be accused of waiting for a flood! :)

4. If you could have anyone's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?
Matthew McConaughey. He does those commercials on the radio for beef/steak and I think, I could listen to this commercial over and over.

5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot?
YES! YES! And YES! This is very high on my list of pet peeves. I don't think it takes that much effort to put your cart back. If I have the kids I always try to park as close to one as possible. If I see a cart hanging out in the parking lot I'm about 95% likely to put it away because I'd always feel bad if it hit somebody's vehicle.
