BLAKE BOWEN
10 lbs. 3 oz. 10 lbs. 10 oz.
22.5" long 22.5" long
Aaron and I can hardly believe it, but our twin baby boys are two months old! I'd ask where the time has gone, but we already know...home, hospital, driving...
Anyway, we finally have our first comparison stick since birth since Bowen had his two month check in Ames yesterday. Obviously, Blake gets weighed every single day, so they can keep tabs on his growth.
Both boys around the 25th percentile for weight and 30th for length. I laughed at Dr. Nau yesterday when he showed me Bowen's growth. We have never had babies below the 80th percentile before! But, with twins they tend to be a little behind the curve (because they had to share a womb) and it takes them awhile to catch up. Like Dr. Nau said, the boys have a good gene pool and they'll catch up and he's not worried at all.
As we've said before, kids that have kidney problems tend to grow slower than normal. It's kind of a nice bonus for the doctors (and us) because we have a built in comparison stick with Bowen. They are very close right now in size and we're hoping it stays that way!
As you can see, they are both getting so much bigger and less-newborn-like. They are looking less-alike everyday it seems. You can tell they're siblings, but not close to identical twins by any means. The boys have very similar mannerisms and I love watching them move around and the facial expressions they make. They are very alert and follow what's going on around them. Bowen smiles a lot these days and Blake is starting to. Bowen is up once during the night and it sounds like Blake is the same from what the nurses tell us.
They are tenatively planning on discharging Blake next Friday, June 17th. Fingers-crossed that everything falls into place and we can all be under one roof!!!
That is great news!! We have our fingers crossed for you!!!
